BIZZARE DOG FACTS

  • 22 reported dog bite related human fatalities in the United States in 2004, 2007 - 29 human fatalities, 2008 - 26. In 2009, there were 33 human fatalities. 45% of the attacks occurred to adults over the age of 18, and 55% occurred to ages below. Pit bull type dogs were responsible for 67% of fatalities, the next closest breed was the rottweiler at 12%. But all dog breeds are potentially dangerous. In 2000, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) reported that 25 breeds of dogs were involved in 238 fatal dog bites from 1979-1998.
  • For each US dog bite fatality there are about 670 hospitalizations and 16,000 emergency room visits, 21,000 other medical visits (office and clinic), and 187,000 non-medically treated bites.
  • 46.1% (nearly half) of dog bite injuries were triaged in emergency rooms as "urgent-emergent" .
  • Dog bites are the second highest reason why children seek emergency treatment
That's about 60,000 bites per fatality and that information is dated. It is reported today that a US citizen is bitten by a dog every 75 seconds.

TOP 10 HAUNTED US COLLEGE CAMPUSES

10. Penn State University,State college,PA
The inspiration for this whole list was the story of Betsy Aardsma who was a student at the university in 1969. She was doing research for her English class when she was stabbed to death in one of the aisles of books in The Pattee Library. Her murder goes unsolved even today. Her ghost is said to wander the library late at night. One student who was looking at books in the very aisle that Betsy was killed in, awoke that night to the sensation of being strangled – so much so that she could not call out for help to her roommate sleeping in the same room. If this isn’t enough, the spirit of an ax murderer is said to haunt Brumbaugh Hall on Halloween nights.

9. Bradford College,Haverhill,MA
This now abandoned college is host to a number of ghosts from the days when the college was still occupied by students. One of the more famous ghosts is that of a young girl who had a relationship with a priest at the school. When she became pregnant she either committed suicide or was murdered by the priest. Both her spirit and the spirit of the priest haunt the old Academy Building. Ghost hunters have also recorded numerous voices, screams and unexplained images on the abandoned campus.

8. University of Notre Dame
In a school with as much history as Notre Dame, it is no surprise that it has its share of haunts. George Gipp, a legendary Notre Dame Football star who gave the famous “Win one for the Gipper” speech, is believed to haunt the university. A friendly ghost, he is often observed hovering over students shoulders, sometimes giving them a friendly pat, only to vanish when they turn around. While it would appear he is watching over students, the Patawatami Indians that also haunt the school are not so friendly. It is believed that Columbus Hall is built on their burial grounds, and the ghostly warriors are often seen riding horses up and down the steps of the hall as if protecting something within.

7. University of Georgia,Athens
Another old school holding many mysteries and mysterious occurrences; from old confederate soldiers to murder and suicide, this campus is full of haunts. The Phi Mu sorority house is reportedly haunted by a girl named Anna Hamilton who witnessed her boyfriend murdered before her eyes and his body buried under the building’s front steps. Students have been able to talk with her using a Ouija board, and her crying is often heard in the house’s empty rooms. Another haunted sorority house is the Alpha Gamma Delta house. Being one of the universities oldest sororities, it is no surprise that is houses one of the oldest haunts, going all the way back to the founding family. Their daughter, Susie was stood up on her wedding day. Heartbroken, she hung herself in the attic. To this day occupants and visitors alike report seeing a women glaring at them from the attic windows.

6. Montclair State University,NJ
More specifically the Clove Road Apartments at Montclair State. Like Notre Dame, the apartments are also built on an Indian burial ground…never a good idea. Doors and windows slam and lock unexpectedly. Lights flicker on and off. The building always feels cold, even with the thermostat on max. Roommates report feeling random feelings of dread, and many fights have occurred for seemingly no reason at all. A man dressed in 19th century clothes hovers over the beds of sleeping tenants, only to vanish with their screams. Worst of all are the figures seen darting between the trees in the woods at night, believed to be the ghost of the Indians no longer at rest. No one will go near the woods after sundown for fear of the unknown.

5. St. Joseph's College
This college was used as a field hospital during the civil war. Unlike hospitals of today, civil war hospitals were often the equivalent of a modern day butcher shop. With little to no treatment options for the wounds suffered by battlefield weapons, the primary treatment was amputations. Stories are told of nurses carrying buckets of severed arms and legs away from these hospitals surgery wards. The screams of these men and, if you’re unlucky enough, the smells of the hospital are present throughout the campus. A few students have reported walking into full ghostly hospitals late at night. Amidst all this horror, a friendly ghost walks among them. Mother Seton, founder of the American Sisters of Charity, is often seen walking around campus smiling at students and rushing to attend to the eternally injured phantoms of soldiers.

4. Drew University,Madison,NJ
Surprising that a theological university and seminary would be full of haunts but Drew University has its fair share. A misty apparition haunts Asbury hall, believed to be of a student who hung himself from the rafters. The campus is also known for the haunting of Roxanna Mead Drew, wife of the founder. One day, a fire broke out in Mead Hall (named after Roxanna) and members of the Madison Fire Department were called in to douse the flames. Two firefighters who were fighting the blaze saw a woman apparently trapped inside the burning hall and went in after her. Witnesses say that she was dressed in 19th Century attire and that the flames burned right through her. She glanced at them then disappeared.

3. Cal State University,Channel Islands,Camarillo
It is never a good idea to build a university on the grounds of an old insane asylum as Cal State decided to do. Ever since the university first opened its doors in 2002, students have reported seeing the universities old residents wandering the grounds, halls, and streets of Cal State. Inmates are seen entering rooms which are empty upon investigation. Another inmate dances in a parking lot at night, only to fade as he approaches the streetlights. Scarier still are the violent ghosts who have thrown objects, knocked students over, and vandalized locked classrooms.

2. University of Illinois,Urbana
After a night of drinking, a sister at the Alpha Phi Omega Sorority Hall returned to her room late one night. While ascending the stairs to get to her floor she noticed that she was being watched by a figure at the top of the stairs. Upon further inspection she realized that the figure, that of a man, was wearing a grey uniform and had no face. She quickly ran and told her friends; however the building was searched and nothing was found. Ever since then the man has been seen in numerous locations on campus. Some years ago, in Crampton Hall, a student was found hung in his closet. It was quickly determined that the student had been the victim of foul play, however no killer was ever found. Fast forward to 2007. When a student didn’t show up for a party, his friends went looking for him. They found him in his closet, hanging bound and naked upside-down, alive but terrified. That same night, several students were awakened by a man standing over them, who would turn and disappear into their closets. The man has never been identified.

1. Ohio University,Athens
This should not be a surprise. It is well known and documented that Ohio University is perhaps one of the most haunted places in the world. From ghost teachers that talk to students, sounds and voices heard in sealed rooms, to an entire ghost basketball team, this campus is truly full of haunts. Nearly every single building on campus has at least one ghost associated with it. In a place literally full of ghosts, one manages to stand out among the rest. Wilson Hall is said to be one of the most haunted buildings in the United States, and was featured in the TV series “Scariest Places on Earth”. A female student practicing satanic rituals supposedly died violently in room 428. While this story has no real backing, what is true is that school officials have closed and sealed the room because no student could live in it peacefully. Voices are heard throughout the halls, doors lock and unlock, open and close on their own, and ghostly figures wander the building. The building is also dead center of a pentagram formed by five cemeteries which surround the campus. Rumor has it that this building itself was built on top of an old mental hospital cemetery, however this was proven to be untrue.

HOW TO PROTECT YOUR COMPUTER

 10. Proper Turn Off
It may be so that you are in a hurry and you turn off the system by flicking the power button directly. However one should avoid this and follow the proper procedure. When you turn off the computer using the shut down option, windows perform a number of house cleaning tasks including closing any open application, saving your data. It may take a little time but a little patience can help you avoid any problems later.

9. Safe Mode
Unlike its name, the mode isn’t that safe. People often think that it is always better to run your system in safe mode but actually it is not. The safe mode should be only used when you need to fix or repair any error in the operating system.

8. Never force the CD Tray
It may happen sometime that your CD tray takes long to come out and even when it does, it does not close easily. If it happens with you then never apply any force on it or else you can damage it rendering it useless.

7. Unreliable downloads
Do not download any file from the internet unless you are quite confident about its source and know it is secure. When you download files from unreliable sources, it is an open invitation to virus to attack your system.

6. Trying untrusted links
We often come across advertisements about free scans or softwares that can repair your registry errors and can identify spywares and malwares on a number of websites. Some of these scans will notify some errors that do not actually exist just to scare you off. Some of these can on the other infect your system with spywares and malwares. So avoid clicking on such links.

5. Formatting Hard disk without proper guidance
Never reformat your hard drive as it will clean off all your data and if accidentally you reformat the system drive you will have to again install the operating system. Your data will be lost anyways. And maybe you'll delete some important data that is meant to be untouched, so never do this without proper knowledge about these stuffs.

4. File Management
One must take proper care in how their files are stored. Placing your files anywhere unnecessarily blocks memory. So always store your files in proper files. This also makes backing up data easy. Also do not place too many files on your desktop as this makes your system slow.

3. System Restore point
It often happens that we install the software directly. However, one should always create a system restore point manually before installing any software so that in case anything goes wrong, your system can be reverted back to the previous state.

2. Cleaning up
Many of us have a habit of cleaning old files from our system. It is good practice to remove unnecessary files that are not required anymore and also remove the files that you have a backup of to clear some memory but one should never delete any system or program files that you think is not required. It may be so that a file is used by multiple applications that you do not know. This can also damage the operating system too.

1. Disturbing System files
If you are going to do some sort of experiments with the system files, it's better to knock it off, because if you do this it would be a blunder if didn't happend in your way. When you do not have any knowledge about them it is better not to modify them as even the slightest of change can lead your system to crash and you may end up losing all your important data.

TOP RATED GAME OF 2012(till now)

                         TRINE-2
Price             -  800/-(in rupees)
Ratings         -  9.0
User Ratings -  7.5

Released in 2009, Trine was a side-scrolling indie game that was well received for its gorgeous visuals, enjoyable gameplay and of course, sense of physicality brought on by the Havok engine. Now, nearly two years later, developer Frozenbyte return with a sequel and while the fundamentals largely stay the same, Trine 2 feels like a breath of fresh air from all the conventional action/first person shooters on the block.

In Trine 2 you play as one of three characters - a mage, a warrior and a rogue with more or less the same goal; protect a magical kingdom from evil. You can switch between these characters at any given point in this game with the press of a button. Every character brings his or her own brand of speciality to the table, so the rogue will probably end up being your choice for platforming, while the warrior is naturally more productive at combat. The mage on the other hand can conjure objects that aid in platforming and later on even raise enemies only to fling them to their death Psi-Ops style.
As you proceed through the game, you’ll collect orbs that will allow you to buy new powers for your characters or upgrade existing ones. It’s obviously not as deep as some of the RPGs you’re used to, but it works just fine for this kind of a game. The game has upped the ante when it comes to puzzles and even though this is a side-scrolling game, you’ll find yourself stumped many at times by some of the game’s devious puzzles. Thankfully, the game never feels too tough or too cheap; if anything, you’ll actually feel a bit stupid when you solve a puzzle you stared at for hours, because the answer was right in front of you all along.

Gameplay mechanics stay more or less the same, while playing co-op (this game supports both local and online co-op now), only now you have way more options of tackling the game. For example, one person could switch to the mage and suspend an enemy in mid-air, while the other, playing as the rogue freezes him with a frost arrow. Even during platforming and puzzle solving, you’ll be amazed at how differently the game plays out in co-op as opposed to a solo run through. The only problem here is that both players cannot be the same character at the same time. Still not an issue as the game becomes a lot simpler and way more enjoyable in co-op.

Visually Trine 2 is like a fairy tale book brought to life in stunning HD. The lighting effects in particular are impressive and help convey a sense of calmness and serenity rarely felt in games today. The game’s levels may not be tremendously innovative, but they do drive home the whole fairy tale feel this game has going for it. Special mention also goes to the game’s score that fits the theme, perfectly. The game can get pretty tough and will push your imagination and reflexes to the test many a times.
Trine 2 is a game that appeals to both the hardcore as well as the casual crowd. It’s fun, engaging, gorgeous and offers an even better experience when played in co-op. It also maintains a near perfect balance between combat, platforming and puzzle solving effortlessly switching between all three gameplay elements with ease.

TOP 10 MYSTERIES OF OUTER SPACE

10. Simulacrum in Eagle nebula

One of the strangest photos that has ever been taken of space is that of the Eagle Nebula. The photo itself is supposed to show the birth of a star from the gaseous clouds. However, when the photo was shown on CNN, hundreds of calls came in from people reporting they could see a face in the cloud. When the color of the photo was adjusted, a large human form seemed to appear within the cloud. Scientist have not been able to explain this phenomena.

9. Origin of Galaxies

Science has only recently been able to explain where the stars and planets came from. Now, scientists have turned their attention to a much bigger mystery, where did galaxies come from? What is known is that galaxies are not scattered randomly throughout space, rather they are found in clusters, known as “super clusters”. Scientists have two main theories to attempt to explain galaxy formation. First, the gas left over from the big bang clustered together to form galaxies, in which stars and planets were born. Second is that gas from the big bang created stars and planets all over the universe, and they migrated through gravity into galaxies. Neither theory has been universally accepted yet.

8. Are there more Earths?

Our star, the sun, is just one of trillions in the universe. When you look at the fact that our star has eight planets, and do the math, it tells you that it is possible for there to be eight times as many planets in the universe than stars; an astounding figure. Is it not possible that just one of those planets might have life on it? It is a fact that, since the year 2000, hundreds of extra solar planets have been discovered orbiting distant stars. Some of these have found to be earth- like, such as the planet Gliese 581d, a planet believed to have liquid water on its surface. Could it possibly contain life? Hopefully with advances in technology in the next decade, we will soon know the answer. Till then, it remains one of space’s greatest mysteries.

7. Other Universe

This is one of the more controversial arguments out there. The theory is that there are an infinite number of universes, each which is governed by its own set of laws and physics. Many scientists dismiss this argument as nothing more than speculation, as there is no evidence or mathematical law that allows for the existence of other universes. However, believers in this theory have argued that there are none that disprove it either. This is one mystery which can only be solved if we were able to travel there, however, with the expansion of the universe, it is unlikely humanity will ever find the answer.

6. Dark Matter

Albert Einstein’s equation E = MC^2 is perhaps the best known equation of the century. However when applied to space, an anomaly occurs. When we use it to determine how much matter the universe should have, we realize that we have only found four percent of the matter in the universe! Where is the rest of it? Many believe it is in the form of dark matter. Where is this dark matter? It’s everywhere,  wherever there is no visible matter. Scientists have yet to show any conclusive proof that dark matter does in fact exist. The fact that you can’t see it, touch it, and light and radio waves pass right through it undeterred makes it extremely hard to detect.

5. Mars to Earth connection

When talking about life on other planets, some say we need go no further than our own solar system. Mars has always been thought to harbor life by many conspiracy theorists, saying that NASA is covering it up. Many photos have also called into question civilization on Mars, such as the face on Mars, Pyramids on Mars, and photo of what appears to be an ape like figure sitting on a rock on Mars. While scientists have come out to debunk these photos, they have also admitted that they believe liquid oceans once covered the surface of Mars before its magnetic field disappeared. Is it possible that life did indeed once exist? The current missions to Mars hopes to answer this question.

4. UFO Sightings

NASA Astronauts are some of the most highly trained and specialized people in the world. Often they are expert scientists that can explain almost anything. So when they see something they can’t explain, you can bet it is going to raise eyebrows. One of the most famous incidents occurred on a live broadcast on NBC in 1963. Major Gordon Cooper was at the end of his 22 orbit solo journey around the earth when he said that out of one of his windows he could see a glowing green object fast approaching. The object then made a sharp turn and shot away. He was sure he was not seeing things, as the radar in his spacecraft picked up the object as well. Upon his return to earth interviewers wanted to ask him about the object, however NASA officials would not allow it.

3. WHITE holes

One of Albert Einstein’s greatest accomplishments was the proving, though mathematics, the existence of black holes. From the advances in technology, we now have been able to find several black holes, and believe one to be at the center of our very own Milky Way galaxy. What is astonishing, however, is what Einstein also proved through his equations;  white holes also exist. The exact opposite of black holes, white holes are believed to “spit out” an incredible amount of matter from seemingly nothing. Such an object should  be easy to find, yet none have been. If one was found, it may help us explain other unknown mysteries, such as where the material that made the galaxies came from.

2. Ruins on MOON

In this list we have discussed the possibility of life on distant planets, and in near planets. But could it possibly at one time have been as close as the moon? This conspiracy theory states that there are indeed ancient ruins and buildings on the moon, but the government has been censoring them from the public. This theory had no backing until two recent breakthroughs. A man who claims to have worked for the government censoring moon photos came forward with several, explaining how the censorship was done and that indeed there were structures on the moon. More recently, scientist announced they believe they have discovered water, possibly in ice or liquid form, under the surface of the moon. For conspiracy theorists, this was all the proof they needed, while critics dismiss it as “ridiculous speculation”.

1. DARK energy

Dark energy is the greatest mystery in the universe today, because of the fact that it is believed to be all around us, and it explains why there seems to be anomalies within the law of gravity. By the law of gravity, large objects, like galaxy clusters, should attract each other, and their gravitational pull should pull in other objects. This however, is not the case, and the fact is most galaxy clusters are moving farther apart. This is due to the fact that the universe is expanding at an incredible rate. To answer the question of why this is, scientists developed the theory of Dark Energy, which has the opposite effect as gravity, pushing things apart. Mathematical calculations have shown that if it exists, it makes up 74% of our universe, outweighing gravity, and this is why the universe is stretching out. However we still have no conclusive proof, so it remains a mystery to us.
